DESCRIPTION

This river is perfect for a 5 or 6 day float and can be extended by floating down the Nushagak River for a couple of days.

Float & fish the Salmon River for Rainbow Trout, Dolly Varden, Grayling and Salmon. The trip starts in a small lake at the headwaters of the Salmon River, which is a tributary to the Nushagak River. The Nushagak is famous for its large salmon runs and terrific fishing. The Salmon River is a major spawning tributary with large numbers of King, Chum and Sockeye Salmon returning to the river each year to spawn. The river is very small at its origin and gradually grows as you float down river.

Our primary objective is to provide an intimate small water fishery focusing on Rainbow Trout, Dolly Varden and Grayling. This water is wadable and offers incredible small stream sight fishing.

Each day will be a combination of floating and stopping to fish the river at the best runs and holes. We will focus on salmon spawning beds where the dollies, trout and grayling will concentrate to feed on the salmon eggs. Most of the fishing will be wading from shore.

Our goal is to provide the best fishing along with personal service. We will have one guide for each two anglers and use one raft for each two anglers. Veteran guides will be heading up our trips. Our guides are experienced in fly and spin fishing and offer the novice a chance for one-on-one teaching. For the expert they offer Alaska fishing knowledge and local expertise.
