Logistics and Costs
Because we use Tikchik Narrows Lodge's facilities to stage our trips, we do not have to fly our equipment and personnel back and forth to Dillingham between trips (another significant savings).
Travel to DillinghamAnchorage to Dillingham is a one-hour jet flight from Anchorage. Alaska Airlines operates twice-daily 737 jet service and Peninsula Airlines has several turbo-prop flights per day. You will need to make your own reservations to Dillingham. Upon arrival in Dillingham, Tikchik State Park Tours staff or representatives will meet incoming guests at the airport in Dillingham and assist with the luggage and transfers for a 30 minute flight to Tikchik lake air strip using a wheel plane.
Weather delays are unlikely, however should weather conditions cancel the bush plane flight between Dillingham and Tikchik Lake, Tikchik State Park Tours will not be responsible for hotel stays and meals in Dillingham. If weather delays the departure from Tikchik Lake, Tikchik State Parks Tours camping provisions will be used.
Tikchik State Park Tours will assist in coordinating the flight arrival and departures between Dillingham and Anchorage. Flight preference may very, depending on which trip itinerary is booked. It is very important to us that your transfers in Dillingham go smoothly and efficiently.
