Unguided Options

For those adventurers who prefer to "do it yourself" Tikchik State Park Tours provides kayak &  raft rental along with Air Charters to and from Dillingham Alaska. We do not rent camping equipment,  (tents & cook stoves etc.) 

Any of our trips that are offered on a fully guided basis can be taken on an unguided format. We do not have trip prices for unguided trips. The trips are priced  on the boat rental and air charter (Bush) flights. All unguided trips are custom trips. The starting date, destination and duration are your decision. 

There are 4 steps to you planning your own trip. 

  1. Decide on your trip destination, route and duration. 
  2. Reserve your equipment - Kayaks for lake trips & raft/s for river trips. Contact us for availability info@tikchik.com
  3. Schedule your Air Charter flights from Dillingham Alaska to your destination and return. AIR CHARTERS
  4. Purchasing your Airline Tickets from Anchorage to Dillingham Alaska. Contact PEN AIRLINES  or ALASKA AIRLINES  to set up your scheduled flight)

 Kayak rental rates include flying the boats to your starting point. To transport these boats, we have to fly them as  exterior loads, (tied on the floats of one of our float planes) We cannot carry passengers when we transport the boats. The boats will be flown to your starting destination prior to your arrival.  We rent Necky  hard shell plastic touring boats. Kayak Rental includes paddles, spray skirts & life jackets..
Item Per Day Per Week  

Unlike the hard shell kayaks. the rafts can be flown with the passengers on  any Air Charter. The rafts are staged at Tikchik Lake runway. For trips to Nishlik Lake for floating the Tikchik River the raft will be flown as part of the air charter from Tikchik runway to Nishlik Lake. (the starting point)

Rafts rentals include rowing frame, oars, cooler, pump, repair kit & life jackets.
